LEADERSHIP FUNDAMENTALS - PART THREE
Preparing to focus on your leadership effectiveness is like ensuring your car is roadworthy before your holiday.
Checking the tyres, petrol and oil gauge enables you to concentrate on the road ahead.
Disregarding these FUNDAMENTAL checks will slow your movement from the ‘next lane’ (future focused) back to the ‘now lane’ (current focus) which could cause a traffic jam.
Your LEADERSHIP FUNDAMENTALS which will prepare your movement to the next lane include:
FEARS – acknowledge what’s stopping you, address them or understand them – don’t let them prevent your drive to Leadership
FLAWS – identify if they can be fixed or flip the focus to your features – women dwell on what needs to be fixed rather than what can be flaunted
FEATURES – be proud of what you’re good at, articulate widely and experiment how you can share these across contexts. If you’re a great speaker – offer to speak at a conference.
FEELINGS – leverage your emotional intelligence, differentiate yourself by speaking to your emotions & feelings and use your emotional radar in your leadership
FACTS – do a fact check on yourself – what do you and don’t you know about your operating system
FINGERPRINT – be comfortable with the fact that you are unique as your fingerprint, there is no one else like you and there is no need to imitate others
FORTITUDE – gather your resilience to weather the journey of change which is inevitable if you’re reviewing and experimenting with your leadership
Which FUNDAMENTAL FACTOR will halt your drive and what do you need to do get into the next lane?
Investing the time to create strategies to work on these LEADERSHIP FUNDAMENTALS will accelerate your future effectiveness and movement to the next lane.
Activities addressing these fundamentals are included in my The Female Factor programs.
