AGREE TO DISAGREE
Tuesday’s STRENGTH is being TOLERANT.
It’s the STRENGTH that one client said was transformative in her career.
Being extremely opportunistic, performance-focused, and competitive she had forgotten about peoples’ differences.
Not all her team were operating at 110% exhibiting continuous drive.
And it was the STRENGTH of TOLERANT that changed everything for her, even outside her work role.
How TOLERANT are you?
Is it a STRENGTH you bring to your relationships and leadership?
Even when you don’t agree with others, you are comfortable with ambiguity, contradictions, and loose ends. You don’t feel anxious, and you create a vibe where others are free to share differing opinions.
Could your LEADERSHIP get any better?!
By demonstrating behaviours that are TOLERANT you create acceptance and you’ve mastered the art of being able to agree to disagree.
However, a word of caution.
Being too TOLERANT can be experienced by others as INDIFFERENT.
It’s not appreciated by those who expect their manager to be more directive or at least have an opinion or view on the matter at hand.
People who avoid being TOLERANT suffer from ‘being right’ – all the time!
So, how TOLERANT are you?
