Your Mindset is a main contributor to the state of your RESILIENCE
You have multiple conversations inside your head at any given time
Some positive & more negative
As Brené Brown, Storyteller & Professor puts it,
“we become addicted to our stories, endlessly looping them in our heads … it’s difficult to see things clearly in this state of rumination.”
We almost need a Security Guard at ‘Reception’ to protect us from our thinking!
Imagine if you were more open to focused positive thoughts.
With the intention to feel better about yourself & other.
Dr Carol S. Dweck, Psychologist & Author recommends:
To move from a Fixed mindset - fixed in your belief about matters & don’t see a need to change, rather rest on your current knowledge, beliefs& talent relating to that matter.
To move to a Growth mindset – which will embrace changes, failures, feedback & seeks out opportunities & challenges to learn.
A RESILIENT Growth Mindset:
· Embrace challenges
· Look for opportunities to learn something new everyday
· Boost your opportunity to accomplish a change
A Fixed Mindset:
· Avoids challenges
· See efforts as fruitless or worse
· Ignores useful feedback
If Resilience is a set of skills, let’s begin with:
· choosing how you want to think
· how you want to feel for the day
· pledging to ‘care less’ to reduce your mental load
· tuning into & monitoring your feelings & intuition,
· being clear what your non-negotiables
· Ditching the guilt & do more for yourself
How will you help your RESILIENCE?
This week I’m exploring your RESILIENCE - ensuring you’re ready to see out 2020.
