Becoming a more effective leader
Requires more skill building
More effective RELATIONSHIPS
Better communication
Every RELATIONSHIP requires a different approach,
drawing on your RESILIENCE to manage REMOTE working.
Let’s consider particular staff who are:
- Concerned for the welfare of others
- Motivated by the growth of people around them
- Willing to selflessly support & encourage others
- Not concerned about themselves or their achievements
- Interested to make life easier for others
These members need your LEADERSHIP to be supporting & enabling.
To offer a friendly culture as they place faith in others.
Conflict may arise if you:
- Restrict their ability to help others
- Are too competitive
- Don’t accept their offer of help
- Downplay their emotional attention.
And avoid:
- Confrontation in public
- Appearing disinterested or distant.
Three ways to help your people develop:
1. Learn to give a firm ‘no’ when the workload is high,
2. Being objective & analytical in the judgment of others &
3. To clarify the urgency & priority of tasks before committing to help.
