LANDED AS INTENDED
Too often we need to read reasoning into people’s words and build our own story.
We can miss some of the message being conveyed and feel disabled in our ability to read the intent.
Talk and Chalk – FOLLOWING UP occurs, and relationships build when there is a two-way conversation opposed to a one-way communication with writing or assumptions created from words alone.
I propose the need to FOLLOW-UP to ensure that what was intended, has landed as intended.
FOLLOWING-UP by speaking with those who have read your message enables clarification.
As a colleague, a staff member and as a boss, I would always say “pick up the phone’’.
Although we are constantly carrying our phone around, we rarely use it as a phone – it’s probably only at 1% usage opposed to the other apps. If you write, type, text, email, post, ensure you do follow up with a talk.
Don’t leave your leadership to chance.
Be proactive, available, and FOLLOW-UP.
TALK LIKE A LEADER is my first book and I zero in on ensuring you FOLLOW-UP with a talk.
