Gratitude
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea (and Lunch!)
Awareness and cash raising is the goal of today.
It’s the day of the longest morning tea for the Cancer Council.
Coincidently my local Business Women’s Network had arranged a lunch and our entrepreneurial member Robyn took the initiative to arrange a cash raising raffle.
I often take this group of women for granted.
They’re there on the door step for a cuppa and we all enjoy meeting up discussing and supporting each other, our roles and our businesses.
Today I was reading about gratitude. It sems very appropriate.
Emiliana Simon-Thomas, the Science director of BerkeleyX shared this point:
Experiences that heighten meaningful connections with others—like noticing how another person has helped you, acknowledging the effort it took, and savoring how you benefitted from it—engage biological systems for trust and affection, alongside circuits for pleasure and reward. This provides a synergistic and enduring boost to the positive experience. Saying ‘thank you’ to a person, your brain registers that something good has happened and that you are more richly enmeshed in a meaningful social community.
Thanks to all the women (people in general) that support me.
