Yes or No?
Do you ever feel that you can’t decide to say Yes or No?
Is it preventing you from making a change this Spring?
An extreme feeling of indecisiveness is known as Aboulomania.
Many clients tell me that they struggle at times to make decisions in their role as a leader.
Fortunately, if your indecisiveness is extreme, professional help is available to alleviate this level of anxiety and stress crippling your ability to perform in your role (and in life).
At the other end of the spectrum, mild indecisiveness can be fixed on your own. Yet, it takes a commitment to become more self-aware, accountable and disciplined.
In your next Teams meeting, decide to step up into leadership and take action. Don’t wait, just do it. Decide to make progress (rather than procrastinate.) This is typical conversation I have with clients.
Indecisiveness can relate to a lack of confidence, belief and trust.
Or, it can be about too much consensus building, overthinking and pleasing.
Do these resonate with you?
Here are my 3 Spring tips to make progress:
Rules – just like road rules, set rules for making decisions, e.g., set a timeframe to reach your conclusion
Head – empty your thoughts onto paper to make sense, e.g., join the dots to create the response
Prioritise – ensure decisions are made prior to other activities e.g., having that next coffee or going to the gym
We’re well into the Spring Challenge. You can still jump on board and work with me to make progress with your goal to transition from Winter to Summer this Spring.
