Five Mentor Mistakes
There is the casual Mentor, an appointed Mentor, and a Mentoring Relationship.
The casual Mentor appears when needed.
The appointed Mentor may arrive at the beginning of a new role.
And the Mentoring Relationship has defined roles and goals.
Each style and approach to Mentoring is a movement in the right direction and a vital activity in a person’s purist of their success.
Yet, being human, we can easily fall into making mistakes which lessens the power of Mentoring.
Here are five easy mistakes which can be easily rectified.
Five Mentor Mistakes:
1. Taking over and running the agenda
2. Holding onto the relationship
3. Getting too involved and too personal
4. Not being available at the right time
5. Not taking notes and fulfilling action items
