Being LOYAL on a Sunday
Rituals are followed by many faith denominations on a Sunday.
Commitments are made by families to visit and socialise on a Sunday
Relationships and connections are fostered over food on a Sunday
Sporting teams rely on each other to practice and plays on a Sunday
Being LOYAL occurs every day in the workplace; where trust is given, principles are followed, and promises are delivered upon.
LOYAL is the final STRENGTH of the 28 STRENGTHS contained in Relationship Intelligence. The behaviours we choose to use in the workplace to develop and perform in relationships.
LOYAL is about remaining faithful to the commitment made to others. People trust you as you stick to the plan, and they can count on you to deliver. And you expect others to be LOYAL too.
However, it is all about choice. You choose LOYAL to interact with others in your relationships at work. Yet, often, you use LOYAL for every situation.
It’s a bit like serving up a Roast Lamb every Sunday evening.
What might occur if you chose a different meal … a different STRENGTH?
Experimenting with your STRENGTHS is how we grow and learn to be more effective in what we do and being a leader.
Enjoy your Sunday and consider how LOYAL you are or how BLIND you might be. Yes, there is a flip side to being LOYAL. You can be so LOYAL that you overlook or ignore problems with plans or people.
Tomorrow (Monday 28th February) is the final day of this exploration of STRENGTHS. You can view the previous 26 posts via my profile on LinkedIn or here on my website.
