YOUR VOICE VIBE

Creating your leadership vibe involves all your voices.

  • The voice in your head which can often take over and jeopardise your vibe.

  • The voice from your mouth preferably using effective communication skills.

  • The voice via your fingers which has the power to quickly create and crash a vibe!

A buzzing conversation creates the VIBE in the room, one which involves everyone, where everyone feels heard.

Conversely, when you walk into a meeting, it only takes a couple of seconds to know if it’s ‘vibe void’. As Mark Hodgson said, we know when it is there and when it’s not.

Your Leadership Vibe (your internal radar) will pick up words, nuisances, tone, expressions and emotions in all voices and will attempt to pick up the unspoken word.

Using this intelligence enables your adjustment and adaption of your approach to engage, involve and show empathy.

The radars of others will detect if you’re authentic and trustworthy and will quickly shut down when there is limited social connection.

The equation summation of values + virtues + vision + voice arrives at VIBE.

It takes all four factors to achieve your leadership vibe – you’ll realise when the equation breaks:

Without values – decisions aren’t grounded, and opportunities are missed

Without Virtues – behaviour inconsistency creates distrust and enthusiasm diminishes

Without Vision – the tribe is aimlessly led

Without Voice – people get stuck in their thinking and it’s not challenged

Too often people comment that ‘’they are not heard’’. Sadly, we don’t hear these important voices and disappointingly, we don’t take action.

John Farnham’s ‘You’re The Voice’ says it well: “You’re the voice, try and understand it, make a noise and make it clear” …. (go on, sing it!)

How will your voice be heard in 2020? Let it be heard and get it onto the radar of those that matter.

Think of that favourite tree to remind you of the power you have with your vibe.

My favorite trees where I live & work @ Sandhurst Club.

Its unseen roots hidden by earth are your values, its trunk and branches are virtues, behaviours & strengths and its leaves are your voice. Make it rustle. Encourage others to see the tree – this creates vision.
