Stop and Consider - The STRENGTH of Open-to-Change

Stop and consider

Being OPEN-TO-CHANGE slows down your automatic behaviour to let you hear and see what’s going on or could be on the agenda.

Depending on what’s vitally important to you, this STRENGTH comes into play …

·       So, people are being listened to

·       To determine the best course of action

·       To be sure I am fully informed

·       To find the best way to help someone

·       To adjust and improve my strategy

·       To see if I have anything to contribute

·       To respect and honour diversity

Whilst it’s valued that you consider different perspectives, ideas and opinions be CAUTIOUS not to dial it up too often, for too long too regularly as you’ll appear INCONSISTENT.

And let me tell you, if there is one description, I hear the most from disgruntled team members, is an INCONSISTENT team leader.

OPEN-TO-CHANGE encourages perspective rather than a piercing blinkered view.

It’s one of my low STRENGTHS which means that I have to purposely stop and consider to borrow it to be more fair and kind.

How OPEN-TO-CHANGE are you?
