Frequently Referenced Resources

FREQUENTLY REFERENCED RESOURCES

I aim to keep current with resources that potentially match people and their development needs to become more effective leaders.

As I prepare my Reference list for my first workshop this year, these 5 books📚 are still at the top of my list:

Virtual Engagement – Chad Littlefield

Being online requires an entirely different approach to engaging people. It’s not about moving the meeting to be online, it’s about new techniques, skills, and mindset.

This is your go-to resource to get people to lean in and turn up early to your online meetings.

How Women Rise – Sally Helgesen & Marshall Goldsmith

An awareness of how other women miss opportunities to progress in their careers based on 30 years of coaching women enables people leaders and women themselves to correct their ways. 12 Habits are identified, and actions recommended to break the habits.

Permission to Feel – Professor Marc Brackett

A practical guide to bringing emotional intelligence alive in your workplace. Tools used in kindergartens across the USA are now appearing in workplaces globally.

Creating workplaces that permit people to express how they feel and take accountability to make changes to increase their energy-boosting feelings.

Very simple tools produce impactful results.

The Leading Edge – Holly Ransom

This is your leadership dictionary. It’s up to date with what people, businesses, and organisations are doing to progress with great leadership.

Holly Ransom has created a great resource to update your thoughts, practices, and approach to leadership in our very modern diverse world.

The Coaching Habit– Michael Bungay Stanier (MBS)

My favourite Australian-Canadian author has produced several ‘must have’ books to boost your leadership. The Coaching Habit is a practical and implementable resource and I use it with all my clients.

The habit of a leader who coaches drills down to 7 questions asked in 5 minutes.  As I say to clients, you don’t need to book a space for an hour to coach … do it in the corridor, or while you walk together to grab a coffee.

I’ve been listening to and reading new books over the past few weeks while on holiday. Look out for my take-outs or get in contact to discuss your needs in 2023.

What books📚 have you read over the holiday period?
