Yesterday I helped my mum with her St Vincent de Paul (Vinnies) volunteering. Driving and delivering heavy bags of staple groceries to people in their homes ... some of these homes were beautiful or had amazing bay views, which had me judging their need of this amazing service.
Mum who's 5ft and 81, has been volunteering for over 20 years and said, "we don't judge as we don't know their circumstance".
Within an hour my whole perspective changed. Yes, I'm sure some people are taking advantage of this service yet mum and her fellow parishioners, only care about caring and supporting their community.
This morning when I looked into my pantry I thought of the courage needed by these people to call for help.
How has courage showed up for you this week?
