Invest In Yourself - Short Term or Long Term Investment Goals

SHORT TERM

or

LONG TERM

What term will you take to invest in yourself?

If it’s purposely short term, a book, short course,  acouple of engagements with a Coach may suffice.

Understandably, this will depend on the time and financial investment you want to contribute to your future.

If it’s for a longer-term, then this research into goal achievement has provided some new insight into what will keep you focused throughout the longer term. (insert to article)

If for example, you wanted to invest in yourself by completing a one-year online study or training program, it’s been uncovered that setting sub-goals only works for a portion of the time commitment.

Realising we’re not static and that our motivation (or reasoning) changes, we need to change our internal messaging and apply a hybrid model to how we view the goal - moving from incremental to big picture focus.

Knowing that only a few months of study are remaining, the focus should be on the future role you’ll fulfil with the attained qualification as opposed to passing the subject.

It’s like the strategy of completing a jigsaw, sorting the straight lines and colours is goal-focused and when the picture starts to appear, you focus on completing the bigger picture.

How are you planning on investing in yourself?

Remember, in Australia, it’s nearing the end of the financial year.

What investment will take you to your bigger picture?
