The Trust Equation - Make Leadership Predictable

WORDS

ACTIONS

EMOTIONS

MOTIVES

Do you listen to the words or rely on your feelings?

TRUST has various domains which expands our view of our awareness of how we value TRUST.

How to you value trust?

Listen to how you talk about trust.

Trust operates in four domains and according to the authors of The Trusted Advisor (David Maister, Charles Green & Robert Galford) there’s a Trust Equation:

CREDIBILITY – Words – I can trust what is said about you …

RELIABILITY – Actions – I can trust her to work with …

INTIMACY – Emotions – I feel comfortable discussing this …

SELF-ORIENTATION – Motives – I can trust that he cares about …

Your equation may be low, with only one domain functioning.

Yet, you can activate all four domains to increase your equation.

If for example you want to increase your RELIABILITY domain consider:

Do you deliver on what you promise & on time?

Do you arrive early for meetings, start on time, and finish ahead of schedule?

Do your packages arrive on time with a personalized note?

How does your TRUST equation fair?

Getting to TRUST is MAKING LEADERSHIP PREDICTABLE.

And predictability relies on growing a healthy leadership foundation.
