LEADERSHIP ACTIVITIES FOR RETURNING

‘Checking in’ with people who have already ‘checked out’ is a challenge for Managers

COVID19 has affected people on many levels – one level is being distracting from their work

The UNNECESSARY ‘soft skills’ & leadership skills for Manages … are now CRITICALLY NECESSARY.

When a client tells me that it’s compulsory that staff complete ‘compliance training’ & optional to develop effective communication skills – I remind him every time he complains about the communication in his business!

RETURNING TO THE WORKPLACE, provides the perfect opportunity to SET THE STANDARDS, SET THE SCENE & SET THE SKILL to compliment the safety & compliance training for the team.

When you’re ready to reboot the business & lead the team, here’s three activities to engage those who’ve checked out … to check back in:

SETTING STANDARDS

Involves working together to identify, clarify and agree on how the team will work together. Behaviours, communication, conflict, strengths become the benchmark of what each person expect of each other.

SETTING THE SCENE

Requires creativity to produce ‘what if’ scenarios; working together producing scripts to use to lead the situation. In service situations, it’s about what to do and say to help a client who’s dissatisfied – so that everyone follows the same process.

SETTING THE SKILL

Builds the communication, emotional intelligence, resilience, assertiveness … all those ‘SOFT SKILLS’ and the LEADERSHIP SKILLS of accountability, influencing & decision making which we expect of each other, especially by our leaders.

👍These activities can be done within your business – and it can be done by everyone.

👍When you make people feel important, needed & valued – they’ll step up & check in.

👍However, when business gets busy & you need professional help, you’ll check in with me.
