Remember when ....

You know when you’re in a good relationship as you hear yourself repeatedly say “Remember when …”!

Reflecting on the past is such a great activity – in these days, it’s probably an exercise for the brain. Zooming into years gone by, highlighting the activities that have created ‘who we are’, personal branding, is a smart activity. There are so many opportunities where your experience and past come into play.

Winston Churchill said “The farther back you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see.” This is one of my favourite quotes. It helps me refocus on how to solve problems as I’ve generally experienced something similar in the past. However, my ultimate practise of this quote is planning. I like to continually tweak or change what I do; the previous approach whilst not redundant, is reflective of the time – a lot can happen in say 90 days!

Remember when we did something ‘that way’ is all about context and it should stay in the past. How we create solutions for the future should be mindful of what is likely to happen in the future.
