Helmets on & helmet’s off
Bike riders are ruling the pathways in our Covid bubble
Kids are wearing helmets, whereas some adults aren’t
EXPECTATIONS can be divisive
Do as I say, not as I do
Don’t be prescriptive unless you are setting the consistent role modeling example of how things need to be done in your world.
Yet, I’ve seen EXPECTATIONS work for the greater good
Team members contributing ideas & approaches
Encouraging each other to fulfill these agreements
Fuelling their energy, engagement & excitement
Yet the world has been reading Untamed by Glennon Doyle.
It left me realising how we live a life based on the rules & EXPECTATIONS set by others.
Without questioning the purpose & reason for so.
Don’t live someone else’s EXPECTATIONS,
Ensure you set EXPECTATIONS together
And set your own EXPECTATIONS for yourself.
LEADERSHIP sets the anticipation when we’re all in this together.
EXPECT to do these things together to set EXPECTATIONS:
👉Set boundaries - what’s OK & not OK
👉Give permission – tell me when I’m breaching the EXPECTATIONS
👉Set goals – be totally aware of what’s going to be achieved
👉Estimate effectiveness – describe what you want to see occur
👉Discuss effort – who’s involved & how they’ll be involved
Set your own EXPECTATIONS
Try these questions:
🤔What do you expect of myself?
🤔How does that show up in my leadership?
🤔What do I do to communicate these expectations with myself?
🤔What inclusive measures do I have in place?
