Tip One: Turn Sounds Off

If you're planning on focusing and dedicating time to complete a piece of work, project, attend a meeting/workshop or just need time to think, then there is one item you must do.

If you do one thing today, to de-clutter your life, then it has to be the action of 'turning off the sounds' which infiltrate our airwaves.

I recently observed a group of workers and I was amazed at the number of times that their concentration was hindered and broken due to sounds and vibrations of their devices, including their watches, lap-tops and smartphones!

The problem with these distractions is that it takes longer to concentrate once it's been broken a few times. You may as well not participate if you're not fully engaged. Sadly, without realizing, it's an insult to the people around you. 

So, if you're keen to get ready to plan then you need to turn off your sound. To do this, you'll need to go into your settings and individual apps to turn off their specific sounds. It might take a while by the time you check your email accounts, apps, games and the list goes on and on! 

I believe this will be a challenge for many of you. So, start slowly; turn off one sound a day. Good Luck!
