Bite Sized Pieces

I’m getting the hang of this blogging! I craft my little message when I’m out exercising. This morning it was jogging (I achieved a PB of 2 x 5min & 2 x 3min) and while I struggled to keep going for 300 second intervals I concentrated on word-smithing this blog. Every single word caused pain! However, if I created a sentence between each tree, it kept my mind off thinking about the pain!

One of the methods in our Listen to ME! workshops, which focuses on enabling women to feel confident with their communication, is about breaking down messages into bite size memorable pieces – aka ‘Divide & Conquer’! Providing a quick taste of the bites at the beginning, elaborating in the middle and reminding them of the bites at the end will make people listen and understand you. You’ve told them three times in possibly three different ways!

John Medina, molecular biologist and author of ‘brain rules’ advocates exercise and how it boosts brain power. We literally have to move every ten minutes to keep the brain active. So, if you have something to say, you’ve got less than ten minutes before the brain fades. Maybe you could take them for a walk and talk!
