It’s my son’s birthday today. He’s turned eight and for a special reason, I feel more excited than he does. I know I’m his Mum and there’s that great bond, however it’s the simplicity of seeing him super happy. Knowing that he’s happy is such a relief for parents & grandparents. You kinda feel that you’ve done quite a good job.
In comparison, it’s the challenge of leadership – having and keeping happy employees. In your quest for leadership, you have to bypass the management of the work, to unlock the secrecy of what drives the people and helping them achieve a sense of fulfilment and happiness. You want your people to come back to work every day!
I’ll get back to my happy son and you can ponder on the secrecy of your people’s happiness!
